Yellow Belt

Today Hayden tested for his yellow belt. To say I'm proud of him is an understatement. I thought my heart was going to explode! I am beyond thrilled with this special guy, I just really don't have the words to express it! Below are pictures from today. At the bottom is a video of Hayden breaking his board. (This was his first time to even see a board, they don't practice with boards only pads!) Some of you may have seen it on Facebook, but if you haven't please check it out!! He did so good and is pretty proud of his accomplishment!

Rangers, baby!!!

This Strahan household are HUGE Ranger fans! We always get so excited when April comes...it's America's past time! I was lucky enough to attend a luncheon at the Texas Sports of Hall of Fame for the Rangers. Ron Washington, Manager, Eric Nadel, Announcer, Dave Anderson, Third Base Coach, and Mark Hamburger, Pitcher were all in attendance. They basically spoke about how they came to be in baseball and what there thoughts were on last season and the up coming season. There was Q&A from the audience the food was amazing and I am so happy I got to be apart of it all!

 Ron and Eric

Me and Ron Washington

The baseball I asked Ron to sign. Matt was very happy to receive this little gift. He has a very nice baseball memorabilia collection and it always happy to add stuff to it!

Me with the 2010 and 2011 ALCS Trophies. It was pretty amazing to touch something I knew Michael, Ian and Josh have all held!

It was a great experience and I am proud to be a Ranger fan. Even with all the media surrounding Josh's alcohol relapse I know God will lead him where he needs to be and get him to enjoy life again.

LET'S GO RANGERS!!! THIS IS OUR YEAR!

Karate Kid

Hayden told us he wanted to take Karate. So of course we signed him right up. So far he is really enjoying himself. Much more then he did soccer! All of the pictures are low quality. It's hard to good action shots from a cell phone! He will have a graduation ceremony every time he reaches a new belt color. At each of those ceremony's he is supposed to be able to break a board....WHAT?!?! My baby? Can you imagine? I will believe it when I see it!

Dr. Pepper Museum

Recently we took Hayden to the Dr. Pepper Museum. He LOVES Dr. Pepper (who doesn't?!?!) he doesn't get to have it that often...(ugh-hem, unless he visits a certain grandparent) I myself have never been to the Dr. Pepper Museum and I have lived here my whole life!!! It was really neat, but of course the treats where the best part! Hayden is enjoying his first Dr. Pepper float. I didn't care for it too much, I like my Dr. Pepper on the rocks, no ice cream for me please!

Volcano Fun

A couple of weeks ago Hayden and I made a volcano together. He had a lot of fun and was a very good helper. I figured I would be stuck making the whole thing and he would come around what it was time to make it erupt, but I was wrong. He had a blast and it was pretty neat. It was a fun project that he and I could do together! I hope to find many more in the future!

Christmas 2011

Christmas morning Hayden ran into our room like the house was on fire to tell us that Santa had came! He was so excited it was so sweet!  Once he looked at everything Santa had left him I started on our traditional breakfast pizza. We have it every Christmas since I was a little girl and we aren't going to stop now! After we ate we opened stocking and then let Hayden loose on the gifts under the tree! We spoiled Hayden rotten and Matt and I spoiled each other a little bit which is rare for us to do, but it was nice for a change!

Christmas Eve 2011

We had a fabulous Christmas Eve this year. During the day we watched all the classic Christmas movies. That night we went took a drive and looked at Christmas lights, fed the reindeer (note to self: reindeer don't like marshmallows because they were still all over my front yard the Christmas morning, oops!!) We made cookies and Daddy insisted that Santa would enjoy strawberry milk this year, and he did! We read our favorite books 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' and 'The Manger Story' and then it was off to bed to dream of sugar plums dancing in our head!

My Christmas Tree

For forever I have had a red and silver glass ornament tree. With the puppy I didn't know if I would come home to a tree on the ground (which never happened, he didn't even bother it) So i decided it was time to revamp the look. I have always enjoyed having a somewhat of the formal tree. The ornaments that Hayden makes and other sentimental ornaments have a special place in our house at Christmas Time.

So this year I went with gold and red. Since I couldn't have glass because of Ranger I bought poinsettia flowers and gold acorns, leaves, and berries. I had a red and gold bow made and I have to say that my opinion my tree was beautiful this year! I was very happy that it all came together!

Oh Christmas Tree!

Hayden decorating his tree this past Christmas. He pretty much clumped all the ornaments in one place all the way down the tree.
